About the Studio

Stillflower is the multidisciplinary studio of Austin Valdez-Stapp — an 8th-generation Texan, fine artist, and brand strategist who has spent a career learning what makes things last.

Built at the intersection of narrative strategy and tactile craft, the studio operates on a single belief: Attention is our most valuable currency. From auditing corporate and organizational identities to reviving the quiet luxury of dried flowers, every project begins with the same question — what here is worth keeping? Stillflower exists to find that thing, name it, and build around it.

The work spans brand consulting, fine art, fragrance, floral design, and experience architecture.

It is deliberate by nature and expansive by design.

Always in Season.

What people ask me

What’s a brand audit, actually?

A strategic edit. Brands fracture over time — messaging drifts, visual identity gets diluted, and the original intention gets buried under years of noise. I find where the break happened and build a North Star narrative to realign everything around a singular, clear purpose.

So then what’s “marketing communications”?

The voice that carries the strategy. Once I know what you’re saying, I build the architecture for how you say it — campaigns, messaging frameworks, editorial direction. Not just who you are. How to talk about it.

What is "Experience Architecture"?

The design of the invisible. I map the sensory journey of a space or event — the flow, the light, the scent, the physical objects people touch and take home. The goal is turning a temporary schedule into a permanent memory.

Can I commission original art or custom goods?

Yes. I take on a limited number of fine art commissions and bespoke design projects each year. These are physical things made through the Stillflower lens — grounded, tactile, built to last.

Why the focus on potpourri?

Because it was the perfect proof of concept. If I could make dried flowers feel like luxury, I could do it with anything. Still Flowers — preserved, intentional, quietly elevated — became the thesis for everything the studio touches.

Where are you based?

Austin. I consult wherever the work calls me.
